St. Xaviers Student Orientation – 29 February’20

The  6th Batch of students from St. Xavier’s College underwent an  Orientation Programme. Smt Shanta Sarda Chairperson East Zone, FTS and  Sri Niraj Harodia, Secretary, FTS-Kolkata Chapter interacted with them. At the end, OTS were allotted to students for Survey along with a questionnaire.

Ekal Cricket League – 9 February’20

Ekal Cricket League was organised by Ekal Yuva Kolkata Chapter which tends to bring out all the hidden talent from youngsters and provide them with a ground to challenge their spirits, and let them briefly take a break from their mundane life. It was an evening of Fun-filled matches & prize and medal distribution.

NMIMS students orientation – 6 February’20

Eight Students from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad came for an internship with FTS. They underwent an Orientation Programme at Ekal Bhawan, Kolkata where they got acquainted with the activities of FTS. Thereafter, they visited OTS in Canning Sanch and GRC  Centre at Malda and submitted a report on their observations and findings.

Raffle collection at M.C.K.V – 31 January’20

This year students from M.C.Kejriwal Vidyapeeth set an example of how small contributions can make a huge impact. Each Student from M.CK.V. starting from Pre – Nursery to Class-XII donated small amounts to make a record raffle contribution of Rupees Eleven Lakhs Forty Four Thousands for OTS. The cheque was handed over to FTS by MCKV ceremonially at the school. The highest collector students were acknowledged by FTS.

Participation in CSR summit – 27 January’20

FTS Kolkata Chapter was invited to participate in a CSR Conference organised by Calcutta Chamber of Commerce on 27th Jan’20 at Hotel Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata. Many Corporates and NGOs participated in this Summit. Mr. Kishan Kr. Kejriwal, President, FTS-Kolkata Chapter and Mr. Niraj Harodia, Secretary, FTS-Kolkata Chapter were present at the Meet. FTS had put up a stall also at the venue as a publicity exercise. Interactions took place with many Corporates and NGOs by the FTS representatives. Many showed interest in FTS and its activities at the event.

Ekal Picnic – 19 January’20

Mahila Samity of FTS, Kolkata Chapter organised a picnic involving the FTS, SHSS, Ekal Yuva Kolkata Chapter Office bearers and their family members. The venue for the picnic was Ekal Prasikshan Kendra, Narendrapur. The persons who attended, enjoyed the whole day leisurely having fun. There were arrangements of games, music, mouthwatering food and many others. There was a Zumba session conducted by professionals which boosted up the gathering. There were exclusive fun activities for the children. It was a day well spent, away from the humdrums of everyday scheduled life.


A Vanyatra was arranged by FTS, Kolkata Chapter on 26th Jan’20. A total of 43 persons participated in the Vanyatra. The group visited 2 Ekal Vidyalayas at Narkeltala and Hatamari village at Canning Sanch, South 24 Parganas Anchal. Read More ……

Srimad Bhagvad Katha – 2nd to 8th January’20

A week long Katha programme was arranged by Shreehari Satsanga Samity, Kolkata Chapter at Vidhan Garden Banquets, Kolkata from 2nd to 8th January, 2020. The discourse was delivered by Sri Pundarik Goswami Maharaj. The Katha was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, Srii Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Ekal Run 2.0

Friends of Tribals Society (FTS), & Ekal Yuva Kolkata Chapter, organized Ekal Run Kolkata 2.0 on Sunday, 22nd December, 2019 in Kolkata. The event was flagged off from Godrej Waterside, Sec-V, Salt Lake in the presence of noted celebrities like Ms. Agnimitra Paul and city corporates like Mr. Dipak Jalan, Mr. Vivek Gupta and Mr. Debashis Sen. The event saw overwhelming participation from more than 2700 people from the city in the category of 3 km, 5km, 10 km and 21 km run.

First Joint meeting: Ahmadabad Chapter of Friends of Tribals society and Mahila Samity on 28th Feb 2019

On 28th Feb 2019, evening the first meeting of Friends of Tribals society Ahmadabad Chapter and Mahila Samity was held in the house of Smt Sangeeta Anil Sumani. More than 45 people attended the meeting. The program was conducted by the Vice Chairman of Mahila Samity Smt Seema Modani

Chote Kadam, Bade Irade

FTS Kolkata Chapter organized a Marathon
titled as “Ekal Run” on Sunday, 27th January, 2019 in Kolkata. The maiden Marathon aimed
to create awareness among people including the corporates and youth in particular about
Ekal Abhiyan movement and would encourage them to support the noble cause of
Education and Rural Upliftment. A total number of 2788 participants ran for their chosen
category of 5 km, 10 km or 21 km (All timed Run). There was also a Fun Run of 3 km. The
event was held at Godrej Waterside, Sector V, Salt Lake in the early hours of Sunday. 
Each Participant's contribution has been towards education of ONE Tribal Child for One

एकल गीत गायन की परंपरागत प्रस्तुति कराने के बाद ओंकार ध्वनि से समन्वय वर्ग का शुभारंभ हुआ। तदुपरान्त् वनबंधु परिषद के राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष श्री अरूण कुमार बजाज ने सम्बोधित किया। उन्होंने संगठन की पंचमुखी शिक्षा के स्वरूप तथा पदाधिकारियों के कार्य दायित्व पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डालते हुए विषयान्तर्गत एक-एक पहलु को जिस तरह से समझाया तथा सभी समितियों के बीच आपसी समन्वय की कड़ी को अटूट बनाएं रखते हुए कार्यो के संपादन में उनकी भूमिका का बोध कराया, उससे सभी लोग प्रभावित थे। उन्होंने एकल विद्यालयग्राम, संच, अंचल एवं चैप्टर के बीच समन्वय के साथ-साथ संगठन के संचालन की महत्वपूर्ण कड़ी आचार्य, ग्राम समिति, कार्यकर्ता, संच एवं अंचल समिति का एक-दूसरे से सम्बंध और कार्य संपादन की प्रक्रिया को कड़ी-दर-कड़ी समझाया।

गुवाहाटी महिला समिति का एफ टी एस बाजार

वनबंधु परिषद की महिला समिति द्वारा 12 अक्टूबर, 2018 को होटल मिलेनियम, आठगांव में दीपावली मेले में उपयोगी सामग्री का स्टाॅल लगाया। इस मेले में वनबंधु परिषद की महिला समिति ने देश के कोने-कोने से दैनिक उपयोग में आने वाली सामग्री मंगाकर एफ टी एस का बाजार सजाया। महिला समिति ने इस स्टाॅल में देश के 15 अलग-अलग चुनिंदा शहरों से दैनिक उपयोग में आने वाली सुप्रसिद्ध उपयोगी सामग्री जैसे अह्मदाबाद की लाल मिर्च पाउडर, स्पेशल मूंगफली, बनारस की लाल मिर्च का आचार, आलू पापड़, कोलकाता का दुपरिया मूंगपापड़, मूड़ी, मसाला, दिल्ली का छोला मसाला, चाट मसाला, पूना का चिवड़ा, हैदराबाद की रोली, चेन्नई का सांभर मसाला, इंदौर का खट्टा मीठा पापड़, राजस्थान का सांगरी, जयपुर का हेयर आॅयल, बिकानेरी भूजिया, पंजाब का हींग, नागौर का हल्दी पाउडर तथा एकल के कार्यकर्ताओं द्वारा निर्मित काॅटन के नैपकिन, दीपक एवं फिनाइल इत्यादि सामग्री रखी गयी थी।

द्वितीय प्रयास

वनबंधु परिषद की महिला समिति द्वारा 22 अक्टूबर 2018 को होटल विश्वरत्न, आठगांव में दीपावली मेले में पुनः उपयोगी सामग्री का स्टाॅल लगाया।


FTS Coimbatore organised a Vanyatra in the month of January, 2018; the guests were Smt. Kavita Maheswari, daughter of Shri. Gopal ji Maheswari and her friend from Coimbatore. Shri. Ramesh Bhai Shah and Smt. Kokila Shah from Houston, USA, Smt. Jyotsnaben Patel from Hartford Connecticut, Shri Harish Karat and Smt Pungodai Ji from Coimbatore Ekal participated in the Programme.

They visited two villages; one was the Valuvar Colony School in the Sanch of Kothagiri with 25 students; total more than 40 people from the village participated in the Programme. The second school was in the village of Gundur Nagar of the same Sanch.

According to the visitors, both the teachers of the two schools were quite dedicated towards the school and students; despite getting better remuneration offers, they have not left the schools. The visitors also stated that these schools are operating in such remote places, created pride for the whole Nation and operating at the level of holistic development.

Acharya Samman

FTS Bhopal Chapter organised an ‘Acharya Samman’ Programme at the Bareilly Anchal Kendra. From Bhopal Chapter, Dr. Chandra Kumar Chudh and Shri. Jayprakash Porwal had shown ‘Samman’ to 8 Acharyas. In the Programme, President of Bareilly Anchal Samiti Shri. C.L. Patel, Secretary Shri. J.S. Chowdhary, Vice – President Shri. Ramkumar Shrivastav etc were present.

For ‘Acharya Samman’, all Acharyas from all the Sanches were invited. These Sanches were Siyawas, Bamhouri, Bikramgarh, Sultanpur, Raisen, Bari, Siwani, Pratapgarh etc.

All the Acharyas got coconut, certificate, useful books, ‘kurta pyjama,’ saree, pen, bag, sweets etc as a gift. They shared their ‘Anubhab Kathan’ in which they stated how the village development is taking place in the villages and the changes are coming in terms of addiction – free community and income – generation; faith increased due to the work done by FTS in the villages. Total number of 30 members from Bareilly participated in the Programme. The guests thanked all the participants for their active participation and working for the noble cause continuously

एकल सुर ताल कार्यक्रम
स्थानीय आई टी ए आॅडिटोरियम, एम जी रोड मेें सम्पन्न हुआ। चैप्टर द्वारा वार्षिकोत्सव के उपलक्ष में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम ‘एकल सुर ताल’ की एकल के बच्चों द्वारा भव्य प्रस्तुति की गयी।
कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन असम के राज्यपाल महामहिम प्रो. जगदीश मुखी के कर-कमलो से हुआ। इस दौरान असम की प्रथम महिला श्रीमती प्रेम मुखी भी उपस्थित थीं। इसी क्रम में कोलकाता से पधारे श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति के राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष, श्री बुलाकीदासजी मिमानी तथा मुम्बई से पधारे रथ योजना के केन्द्रीय प्रभारी श्री सतीश अग्रवाल, श्रीहरि कथा योजना प्रमुख श्री सपन मुखर्जी, विश्व हिन्दू परिषद के अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय संगठन मंत्री श्री विनायक राॅव देशपाण्डे एवं कार्यकर्ता विभाग के केन्द्रीय पदाधिकारी डा. सूर्य प्रकाश शर्मा का भी अभिनन्दन किया गया। आरोग्य फाउन्डेशन के अध्यक्ष श्री डी पी बजाज जी ने महामहिम राज्यपाल महोदय का परिचय प्रस्तुत किया।
वनबंधु परिषद के राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष श्री अरूण कुमार बजाज ने पाॅवर पाॅइन्ट प्रजेन्टेशन के माध्यम से संगठन के विशिष्ट कार्यो की जानकारी दी। श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति के अध्यक्ष श्री ओम प्रकाश लाहोटीजी ने स्वागत भाषण में कहा कि ‘एकल सुर ताल’ की टीम कोई प्रोफेशनल टीम नहीं बल्कि एकल अभियान के वनवासी बच्चों की टीम है जिसने अमेरिका में धूम मचा दी।
अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय संगठन मंत्री श्री विनायक राॅव देशपाण्डेजी ने अपने सम्बोधन में श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति के कार्यो को सुसंस्कारित राष्ट्र निर्माण के लिए श्रेष्ठ बताया। तत्पश्चात् एकल सुर ताल टीम द्वारा कार्यक्रम की भव्य प्रस्तुति की गयी। अंत में गुवाहाटी चैप्टर के सचिव श्री नरेष अग्रवाल ने सभी अतिथियों एवं समाज बंधुओं को इस महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रम में सहभागिता के लिए धन्यवाद दिया तथा आॅडिटोरियम प्रबंधन समिति, पत्रकार बंधु तथा विभिन्न संस्थाओं के पदाधिकारियों को उनके सहयोग के लिए धन्यवाद के साथ कार्यक्रम समाप्ति की घोषणा की।

Vanyatra on July 2018

A Vanyatra was organised for a MNC CSR head to Ekal Vidyalaya in Wada Anchal, Maharashtra. He was very happy to be introduced to the entire functioning of the school .The enthusiastic children and humble villagers left an indelible impression on him.

Participation in Global Exhibition on 6th June, 2018

FTS Mumbai participated in a Global Exhibition on 6th June 2018 and received a cheque of Rs.15 lacs from IESA’s association members. A Film on FTS’s activities was shown and a Presentation was given to the audience. Interviews were lined with Media to highlight the cause behind the work.

श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति

केन्द्रीय कारागार में श्रीमद् भागवत कथा
केन्द्रीय कारागार, गुवाहाटी में 16 से 18 मार्च तीन दिवसीय श्रीम्द भागवत कथा सम्पन्न हुई। 16 मार्च को इस तीन दिवसीय श्रीम्द भागवत कथा का शुभारम्भ जेल महानिरीक्षक रंजन शर्मा, अक्षय पात्र के नार्जदनदेव प्रमु महाराज, वनबंधु परिषद के राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष श्री अरूण कुमार बजाज, विहिप के केन्द्रीय सह संगठन महामंत्री विनायक देशपाण्डे द्वारा दीप प्रज्ज्वलन से हुआ।
कथा समापन कार्यक्रम में प्रमुख अतिथि राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ के असम प्रान्त के प्रचारक उल्लास कुलकर्णी थे तथा मंच पर आसीन विशिष्ट अतिथि गुवाहाटी गौशाला के अध्यक्ष आर. जी. हरलालका, जेल अधीक्षक विद्यासागरजी, शंकरलालजी गोयनका, हाॅस्पीटल के पूर्व अध्यक्ष रमेश गोयनका, मात्रि मंदिर के संस्थापक विनायकजी सराफ का अभिनन्दन कार्यक्रम के संचालक श्याम सुन्दर सारड़ा ने करवाया।
श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति के अध्यक्ष ओम प्रकाश लाहोटी ने स्वागत सम्बोधन रखा। ईश्वर की आप सब पर असीम कृपा हुई है, तब ही इस कथा आयोजन को जेल अधीक्षक माननीय विद्यसागर जी ने श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति को सहर्ष स्वीकृति प्रदान की। यही नहीं इस कथा आयोजन में उन्होंने हर संभव सहयोग दिया जिसके लिए मैं श्रीहरि सत्संग समिति की ओर से आभार व्यक्त करता हॅू।
इस दौरान सभी 1100 लोगों के बीच प्रसाद के साथ असमिया भाषा में लिपिबद्ध श्रीमद् भागवत कथा की पुस्तक भी वितरित की गयी।

Sanskar Sangam on 27 January, 2018

FTS Kolkata organised a Programme titled “Sanskar Sangam” under their scheme of Seva Patra at Merlin Park, Kolkata on 27 January, 2018. All Mahila Samity members, National Executive and Executive Committee members of FTS, senior members of Brahma Kumari participated in the Programme. Shri. Ramesh Kumar Saraogi, all India Working President of FTS participated in the Programme along with his entire family. The objective of the Programme was to provide a common platform of Seva Patra donors together where cultural and spiritual programme were organised. Children were encouraged to participate in the cultural programmes carrying the flavours of Indian culture and tradition. The Programme started with lighting the lamp by FTS President of Kolkata Chapter Shri. R. N. Rustagi accompanied by Smt. Sheela Chitlangia, Smt. Kiran Saraogi and Smt. Shanta Sarda. The cultural programme was hosted by Smt. Supriya Baid. A small spiritual speech by Brahma Kumari delighted the guests. Following the Indian ritual, around 20 children cleaned their parent’s feet with water to express their gratitude for their parents’ love and care. The Programme was followed by evening snacks.

Republic Day Celebration

The Youth Team of FTS organised a Republic Day Celebration by greeting people with National Flag badges at the Dhakuria Lake outside Safari Park at 6 am on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Distribution of Tablets on 15 Jan, 2018

Ekal Vidyalaya held a Programme at Eklavya Swavalamban Trust – Gramotthan Resource Centre (GRC), Gargaon, Wada, on 15th January 2018 to distribute tablets for Ekal Vidyalaya in Gargaon Sanch in Maharashtra.

The Programme began with lighting the lamp. Shri Vivek Karvirji introduced the guests Shri Jagannath Patil, Upa Sabhapati of Panchayat Samiti of Wada, Smt. Meghna Mangesh Patil, Sadasya Panchayat Samiti, Wada, Shri Ramchandra Sawant Member Vikas Bharati, BARC Tarapur & Homi Bhabha Vidyalaya, Shri Dilip Vinayak Patil, NPCIL, Mahesh Murli Adhyaksha Vikas Bharati, Bharat Wadekar Anchal Adhyaksh, Kondu Jadhav Anchal Sadasya, Mahesh Mistry and Dilip Patil.

The Coordinator Shri Pravin Bhoir and Shri Kashinath Kirkire submitted the list of 30 Teachers who were present. Each of the guests then distributed 4 Tablets to individual Teachers – one for the Teacher and three for the students of the school. All the Guests emphasised the importance of going Digital. A new chapter has begun in the Ekal Vidyalaya of digital teaching and learning. Tribals have been taken into the Digital age to be at par with the students of the cities without leaving their homes.

Shri Amit Patil showed the guests, the Kendra’s activities, the Gaushala, Rain Water Harvesting Pond and Farming area.

Medical Camp on 14 Jan, 2018

A Medical Camp was held at GRC, Gargaon (Wada), Maharashtra on 14th January 2018 organised by the Ekal Arogya Foundation of India, under the guidance of Dr Mahesh Sanghvi and sponsored by Gokul Vraj Foundation.

A team of Ayurvedic & Homoeopathic Doctors with Ambulance and Nurses from S.S. Hospital – Kalher Bhiwandi, along with Dr Anil Shukla Founder President – Bharat Vikas Parishad & Dr Smita S Sonawale of Akhil Vidyarthi Parishad & Sukrit Ayurveda Treatment Centre were present in the Programme.

Free testing of BP, ECG and Blood Sugar was performed. There were all kinds of patients from normal cough and cold and malnutrition. The villagers were very happy with the Camp and requested that such Camps should be conducted on a regular basis. It was decided that on every last Sunday of the month, a Camp will be conducted at the Centre and a far away village.

Some of the members of the Team headed by Dr Anil Shukla and Dr Smita S Sonawale went to a nearby village Wadavli. More than 100 patients benefited from the Camp.

Coimbatore Chapter

Coimbatore Chapter FTS Coimbatore organised a Vanyatra in the month of January, 2018; the guests were Smt. Kavita Maheswari, daughter of Shri.

Shramadan on 13 Jan, 2018

The fourth group was headed by Shri Amit Patil who took them to the Trees donated by M/s Essel Propack Ltd at the GRC. He taught them to clear the weeds grown around the trees. He also taught them to build a conical shape mud support (mulching) for each tree and a water ring around it. They learnt it very quickly and started independently doing it by themselves. This team too worked very hard and completed around 100 plants which took them more than three hours. Some of the members went and took the measurement of the paddy fields.

The teams then gathered back at the centre for lunch. After lunch Shri Keshav Kajrekarji taught them a few patriotic songs which they sang with great enthusiasm.

Then they visited the Sales Hut. They were shown the rice produce, the Sewing Class items which are taught and the bags produced. They were also told about the Paper Seed Pen Project. They were surprised that such things are being done in the Centre apart from farming. Participants were very happy with the experience and hospitality of our Centre and said that they would like to come back again.

Shramadan on 13 Jan, 2018

More than 100 volunteers from M/s Namura, Mumbai engaged in ‘Shramadan’ Programme on 13th January 2018 at Gramothan Resource Centre (GRC), Eklavya Swavalamban Trust, Gargaon (Wada). The team of Seva Sahayog Foundation guided them with the help from GRC, staff.

The guests were welcomed with drink and made comfortable before they were divided into various groups

One group went to local Ashram Shala to paint the walls with caricature & scientific objects. They made a stool of 600 plastic water bottles and donated the same to the school. They also repaired the broken seat around the tree.

Second group went to the sub medical unit of the village and painted the walls with images and slogans of medical and health related symbols. They cleaned the premises too. They donated one big cupboard and 3 numbers of disposable bins of different colour code for Bio medical waste.

The third group was headed by Shri Keshav Kajrekarji at the Centre, who taught them how to produce vermicompost. They all took keen interest in learning the same and were thrilled that they could do it themselves. They worked hard for more than 3 hours in learning and then doing the same themselves

Celebrate Life@Gita Way

FTS Kolkata organised a Programme titled ‘Celebrate Life@Gita Way under their activity titled ‘Raffle’ at Kalamandir, Kolkata on 13 January 2018; as a Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker Pujniya Shri Bhupendra Bhai Pandya ji took an interactive session on Gita with the School Children. More than 11 renowned schools of Kolkata with more than 450 people participated in the Programme. All Principals, Vice Principals, Teachers & Students actively participated in the Programme. Apart from them, CA Article Assistants, National Executive and Executive Committee Members of FTS and Youth For Seva (YFS) teams of FTS were also present in the Programme. FTS felicitated the principals of these schools. FTS’s success would not have been possible without the contributions made by these schools.

The Programme attained a great success and children were quite delighted while interacting with Pujniya Shri Bhupendrabhai Pandya ji. The two hours Programme were a spiritual quest for all; it was quite an enriching experience for children and all other participants as they learnt about equating between material and spiritual life ornamented with the path of righteousness; a path of right justice and following the faith towards God. There is no shortcut to success, no compromise on principles. Ultimate faith towards the goal is the most significant way of achieving success and ‘Moksha’ in life.

Ekal Sur Ekal Taal

FTS Indore organised “Ekal Sur Taal” Programme on 13 January, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Many eminent people took part in the Programme. The first woman Councilor Smt. Malini Laxman Singhji Gour, Dr. Smt. Nirmalaji Pediwal, Dr. Smt. Geetaji Mundra etc attended the Programme.

Along with the cultural programme, there were some other activities took place as well; Martyr late Shri. FTS Indore organised “Ekal Sur Taal” Programme on 13 January, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Many eminent people took part in the Programme.

Celebration of Annual Day

It’s been said that whatever work is done with pleasing mind definitely gets success. Some of the people from Laughing Club are associated with FTS and there are regular discussions among them regarding the development of FTS beneficiaries and such discussions encouraged them to visit the Dang Anchal of Gujarat. Total number of 35 males and females visited the Anchal on 1 Jan, 2018.

Under the leadership of the Project Coordinator Shri. Brijmohan Agarwal, the Vanyatra took place at the Nanidabdar Village of Sakarpatal Sanch. The President of Mahila Samity Smt. Vijaya Kokra was also present. 15 participants were new amongst all the participants. All children along with Acharya and Karyakartas warmly welcomed the participants. Like other Vanyatras, National Anthem, Saraswati Vandana etc were performed by the children. All the participants were overwhelmed to see the process of managing the Vidyalaya. All the Sevabratis shared their experience about running the Sanskar Kendra and performed Bhajan – Kirtans.

The old members amongst the participants helped new ones in introducing to the inhabitants of the village. They observed the lifestyle very closely and understood their difficulties of life. The Gram Pramukh of the Village shared the changes that took place in the community due to Ekal Vidyalaya. The participants showed their desire to extend support to the inhabitants of the village.

Awareness Programme for the Morning Walkers on 24 Dec, 2017

FTS Kolkata along with its Partner Organisation Shree Hari Satsang Samiti (SHSS) under Ekal Abhiyan Trust organised an Awareness Programme for Morning Walkers at Central Park, Salt Lake, Kolkata on 24 December, 2017 as a part of an Awareness Drive for Ekal Marathon Programme organised by Sportiz where Jai Balaji Group (JBG) agreed to be the title sponsor and our associates also became co – sponsors to be held on 7 January, 2018 at Godrej Waterside IT Park, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata. FTS was the Charity Partner of JBG Kolkata Trail Run 2018 as this was a Fund Raising Programme for FTS and the Registration Fee was to be contributed for the education of a tribal child. From FTS, Shri. Manoj Kumar Modi, Secretary, FTS Kolkata Chapter, Shri. Manoj Kumar Chetani, Joint Secretary, Kolkata Chapter were present in the Programme. On that day the next edition of Happy Street of TOI was organised. Here too youth present took great interest in the ensuing marathon.

Vanyatra of Youth

A Vanyatra was organised by FTS Bhopal Chapter on 24 December, 2017 at Gulgaon and Airen village of Gulgaon cluster under Bareilly district; the main aim was to engage youth to Ekal Abhiyan in order to give pace to Chapter’s activities; in the Vanyatra, 33 college students of Sagar Institute of Research and Technology (SIRT) participated and visited Ekal Vidyalaya. Vanyatra started at 10.30 am and reached at the above mentioned villages; they were traditionally welcomed in the Vidyalaya by Gram Samity and Acharyas; children performed National Anthem, Surya Namaskar and interacted with the Vanyatris; children were also involved in learning of cleanliness and hygiene management, general knowledge and origami; Vanyatris distributed educational materials and toffees to the children. The President of Mahila Samiti Smt. Kiran Agarwal encouraged college students to get involved with Ekal Abhiyan and Vanyatra. While return, a Programme on “Anubhav Kathan” took place where the Vanyatris shared their experience of participation in Vanyatra.

Vanyatra on 23 Dec, 2017

FTS Mumbai organised a Vanyatra to the Vangaon Village of Maharashtra on 23rd December, 2017. As per the Vanyatris, the most striking aspect was the enthusiasm, energy and cheerfulness of everyone involved in the Programme. The Guide was the Anchal Abhiyan Pramukh who was a successful guide stated by the participants. Vanyatris were also impressed to experience children’s eagerness to come to school and enjoying learning experience. The children gave demonstrations on Language, Mathematics, General Awareness, Cultural Learning as well as their routine of prayer, some songs, dances and games.

Abhibhabak Yojana

Under FTS Surat, to make ‘Abhibhabak Yojana’ more effective, under the leadership of Smt. Kusum Saraph, the Prabhari of the Yojana, all the Sevabratis of Sanskar Shiksha of Gujarat Upasambhag were invited to Surat. On 20 Dec, 2017, in the “Ekal Sur – Ekal Taal” Programme, 35 Sevabratis arrived with their parents to Gokuldham Banquet where they met Shri. Rameshbhai Shah, Global Coordinator of Ekal Abhiyan and his wife Smt. Kokilaben Shah. All of them shared their experiences and feelings with the Global Coordinator and there was a wonderful blending of city and village and intimacy overruled hesitation through this ‘Anubhav Kathan.’

Awareness Programme for the Morning Walkers on 3 Dec, 2017

FTS Kolkata organised an awareness programme for the Morning Walkers on 3 December, 2017 in the Agri – Horticultural Society of India with a view to spread the awareness about the working of the organisation. Many eminent people participated in the Programme. Literature was distributed about the organization was distributed. It was a programme well received.

Vanyatra of Maheshwari Girls School

A Vanyatra was conducted dated Dec 2, 2017 to Falta Cluster of Sonarpur, West Bengal, India. 44 students, 2 teachers and 2 assistant teachers from Maheshwari Girls School, Kolkata participated in the Vanyatra. It was started at 8.20 am and reached the village Hincheberia at 10.45 am. There were 29 students of the School and various Karyakartas of FTS warmly welcomed Vanyatris by applying sandalwood paste on the forehead of the Vanyatris.

Students performed Saraswati Vandana, Gayatri Mantra, Dance on folk songs, Drama and Physical Exercises.

The Girls from Maheshwari Girls School also performed dance and songs. The students of Ekal Vidyalaya enjoyed and responded to it thoroughly

Vanyatris distributed biscuits, chocolates, pencils, copies etc to the children. All Vanyatris were quite happy to participate in the Programme which was at the same time enriching as well as a learning experience to them. It is a part of FTS’s ‘Raffle’ activity where urban children get exposure of a village and it is conducted to make them aware of their responsibility towards the underprivileged section of the society.

Celebration of Annual Day

FTS Nagpur Chapter celebrated it’s Annual Day on 18 November, 2017. President Shri Nandkishor Sarda, Secretary Shri Dinesh Rathi, President of Mahila Samity Shri Urmila Agarwal etc were present in the Programme. Chief Guest of the Programme Col. Mukesh Shahare shared his experience of working in Indian Army; he mentioned about day to day discipline of life and activities of a soldier working in the army. About 20 Karyakartas from all the five anchals of Nagpur Chapter and 10 Acharyas from Gondia and Yavatmal Anchals attended the Programme.
