Faith in the above mentioned saying of Swami Vivekananda inspired our then President Smt. Pushpa Mundra to unite and utilize the power of women. Shri.Rameshwar Lal Kabra, presently one of the core members of Advisory Board of Rashtriya Mahila Samiti initiated a talk in the National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting on 17 July, 2011. The initial meetings took place at Mumbai and Indore and in those meetings a few selected sisters met Shri. Kabra ji and spoke their heart. Looking at the keen interest of all, Rashtriya Mahila Samiti was formed and the first meeting took place on 11 th and 12 th of November 2011 in Mumbai. Today after 10 years of its completion, many Chapter Mahila Samities under RMS are functioning in 16 states across the country. Rashtriya Mahila Samiti has provided a common platform to them to meet, share their views and to work collectively. It has taken an oath to make such Collective Forum until the goal is reached.
Ever since I’ve been associated with Friends of Tribals Society (Ekal Abhiyan), I’ve always been inspired by the devotion of its mentors and senior karyakartas.Ekal is a way of life. It’s a platform for those of us who want to do our bit for Bharat Mata, our motherland. 65% of our population lives in villages, and are far behind the main stream of development. They need our love and care.Ekal is an organisation with a large pool of volunteers from across the country. However, it is a huge task that needs the attention of all, specially the affluent and educated urban dwellers. To strengthen our country we need to empower our rural brothers and sisters. If each one tries to teach one, the goal will be achieved in no time.
Jai Bharat! Jai Ekal!
